This 1,100 sqm office in the Highbrook precinct combines sustainable principles with the pragmatic requirements of a paper wholesaling operation. Spicers Paper Merchants have ESD guidelines in place for their business operations. Their brief was to create an eco-friendly office environment that exceeded current standards, minimising the palette of materials and maximising internal natural light. Staff health and wellbeing were fundamental drivers for the fit-out. Key aspects to the design include: zoned lighting with daylight sensors, recycled and natural product selection, low water sanitary systems, polished concrete and low-emission claddings and paints. Although not a fully rated green building, Spicers has achieved a fit-out that has integrity and promotes the wellbeing of their staff and visitors.
