Designed around a main street running through the site, the Lucas Lane shopping centre proposal contains 44 retail units and a flagship Countdown supermarket. Spread across three floors with a central atrium, the centre also provides 730 free car parking spaces. Lucas Lane Albany is a new shopping centre proposal located in the heart of the Albany commercial area. The Albany area was formally known as Lucas Creek, after Daniel Lucas, a flax trader. The region is characterised by its picturesque native landscape and flora. The interior of the Lucas Lane mall reflects abstracted local landscape and flora forms to create a vibrant and aspirational shopping centre. Reflected light and filtered shadows, angular forms and natural materials provide a dynamic backdrop to a bustling destination retail precinct.
